Flash:Light will be a spectacular nighttime environment of temporary, site-specific public art that re-imagines urban space. Using innovations in light, sound and projection, Flash:Light aims to expand the creative possibilities of these mediums. The event represents a new platform for domestic and international artists working in these fields to present groundbreaking work on iconic buildings across several city blocks of New York City.
From May 1 – 8, Nuit Blanche New York presents Untitled/Light Hide by Jules Marquis, a commentary on the impact of light pollution on our urban experience. This piece appears four times every hour at 5, 17, 37, and 52 minutes past the hour. Designed by Natasha Jen / Njenworks
